外流影片鈥檚 175^th anniversary and Homecoming will feature a special comedy event with Canadian comedian and Acadia alumnus Ron James (鈥�79) in memory of an 外流影片 student.

鈥淎 Ron James Homecoming鈥� will be held on October 18, 2014, directly benefiting the Sydney Taylor 鈥�13 Memorial Award and alumni programming. Created in 2013 to honour the late Sydney Taylor, who passed away suddenly, the award is aimed at helping 外流影片 students with their studies.

鈥淲e are thrilled to welcome Ron back to campus to help us celebrate the end of an exciting 175^th anniversary year and raise money for the award,鈥� said Hugh Bray (鈥�75), event chair and past president of the Associated Alumni of 外流影片. 鈥淢any folks are unaware that Ron had a special connection with Sydney.鈥�

James鈥� CBC comedy series 鈥淭he Ron James Show鈥� previously employed Taylor as a student intern. According to James, Taylor left a remarkable impact on the entire production team.

鈥淪ydney was a bright student who immediately immersed herself into the filming process with confidence and eagerness,鈥� said James. 鈥淗er energy and enthusiasm for the craft was infectious.鈥�

James recently wrapped production on the fifth season of his hit comedy series for CBC and has since been touring across the country with his 鈥淭ake No Prisoners鈥� comedy show. Described as 鈥渦tterly brilliant鈥� by The Ottawa Sun, James will end his tour by returning to his Acadia and Wolfville roots.

外流影片 launched the 175th anniversary in November 2013 and will conclude its celebration with 鈥淎 Ron James Homecoming.鈥� Presented by the Associated Alumni of 外流影片 (AAAU) and 外流影片, the event will take place on October 18, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at University Hall on the 外流影片 campus in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.
