The Office of Research and Innovation, which includes the , encourages students and faculty to explore local and international issues in an interdisciplinary way. Acadia also offers entrepreneurship and experiential learning opportunities through . We offer a large number of undergraduate Honours programs 鈥� most of which are thesis-based鈥攁nd 18 Masters programs & an Inter-University Doctoral Program in Educational Studies.

Acadia is Recognized for being WISE

鈥淲e know that belonging, representation, and early encouragement matter enormously in shaping whether young women see science as a place where they belong,鈥� says Dr. Randy Newman, chair of Acadia鈥檚 Department of Psychology,

Dr. Newman is also the co-chair of WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) Acadia alongside Dr. Melanie Coombs (Biology). The initiative supports women and girls in science and engineering while also fostering institutional and cultural change within STEM environments.

Empowered Voices: Youth Leading the Way at Student Research Lab

In the innovative Student Research Lab (SRL), high school students are co-researchers rather than subjects. They help design research questions, interview other youth, analyze real data, and contribute to findings that inform educators, employers, and policymakers. The high school students get mentorship from Acadia students and professors to learn real-world research skills.

Our students receive one-on-one research mentoring by highly skilled faculty members who are actively engaged in research. This provides wonderful experimental learning opportunities, which serves as the foundation for careers in multiple sectors.
