There鈥檚 no doubt moving is a lot of work.  Set aside plenty of time, as it always takes longer than expected. Reach out to friends and family for their help with moving your things. The more hands, the quicker and lighter it is. Here are some tips to help make your move more efficient.

• Start early!  It鈥檚 never too soon to start thinking about what you need to do to move.
  
  
• If you need boxes, ask around. Some of your friends may have some, and sometimes big businesses will give them to you for free if you ask their customer service.  If not, you can purchase some at the U-Haul Store in New Minas or use reusable bags, hampers, and other items around your home to save money. Start by packing up nonessentials like books, d茅cor, and clothes you won鈥檛 wear before moving.  Packing a few items every day will make moving day much more manageable.
  
  
• Moving is a great time to do spring cleaning and dispose of anything you won鈥檛 be bringing to your new home. Items in good condition can be sold on Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, or donated to community programs. While selling or donating your old things, you can also look for new-to-you items for your next home.  Used furniture is significantly cheaper and more environmentally friendly than new furniture. • Start cleaning and repairing any damages early so it takes less time on moving day. This will help you regain your security deposit and help you get a good reference from your landlord.
  
  
• For moving or storing large items, you can rent a moving truck or storage container from the U-Haul in New Minas.
