外流影片 welcomes all to fall 2022

外流影片 will kick off the 2022-2023 academic year with Move-In Day, Welcome Week, and new student Fall Orientation programming, beginning on Saturday, September 3. This year, celebrations will also stop traffic on Main Street, Wolfville, as the Town and University host a street fair for students and all community members.

鈥淚t is essential that we start the school year off right,鈥 says Dr. Peter Ricketts, Acadia鈥檚 President and Vice-Chancellor. 鈥淥ur students are arriving from across Canada and the world to continue their educational journey. We are grateful they鈥檝e chosen to be here and that our community welcomes them so warmly. Working together, we can create an incredible community for living and learning, in and out of class.鈥

Starting right

鈥淣ew Student Move-In Day and Orientation is our way of connecting our students to an extraordinary community of scholars, leaders, and mentors as well as new friends and neighbours,鈥 says James Sanford, Acadia鈥檚 Executive Director, Student Services. 鈥淲e are excited to help our students establish a strong foundation for their academic journey.鈥

Student Move-In Days 鈥 September 3 and 5

In addition to Residence Life staff, everyone from varsity athletes to campus administrators to security staff and alumni volunteers will help nearly 1,500 students settle into residence life living.

鈥淥ur teams will help direct traffic and people so that students can register, move in, and get to know their housemates before starting new student orientation the next day,鈥 Sanford explains.

New residence students are set to arrive on Saturday, September 3. They will be joined by returning residence students on Monday, September 5.

Fall Orientation 鈥 September 4-6

鈥淭his year, we are enhancing a relatively new approach to orientation, actively embracing and enhancing students鈥 academic affiliations,鈥 says Sanford. 鈥淣ew students will be mentored by student ambassadors in a group that supports their learning interests. It鈥檚 also a great way to include new students who live off campus and provide them with that same social and academic support from the start.鈥

New student orientation continues over three days, September 4 鈥 6. It includes a class photo, an academic lunch, learning sessions, a community street fair, and lots of fun and engaging events, as well as an introduction to academics Welcome Ceremony. The full schedule of events is available online through the .

Acadia鈥檚 first day of classes will begin on Wednesday, September 7, for approximately 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students.
