Acadia and Service Employees International Union Local 2 Ratify New Three-Year Collective Agreement
外流影片 and the union representing its support staff, the Service Employees International Union Local 2, have ratified the terms of a new, three-year collective agreement effective July 1, 2014 and ending June 30, 2017. Members of the Union and the University鈥檚 Board of Governors have voted in favour of accepting the new agreement.
鈥淣egotiators from both bargaining teams need to be congratulated for reaching a settlement through a short, four-day collective bargaining period, said Paul Jewer, Chair of Acadia鈥檚 Board of Governors. 鈥淭he spirit of co-operation exhibited by both teams was a principal factor in their success at the table. Our administrative, support and technical staff are important partners in Acadia鈥檚 overall efforts to maintain and improve our service to students and strengthen our institution鈥檚 reputation as one of Canada鈥檚 best universities.鈥
